Amanda Wilding

Amanda was born in Hampshire on the south coast of England and has lived in the UAE for over thirty five years and is now an Emirati National.

She began her teaching career in Dubai, but has also worked in schools in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.  She has a vast range of experience and insight in the changes across the educational landscape in the UAE.  This expertise adds great value to the community of Al Salam Community School. 

Her association with Al Salam goes back twenty five years, back at Al Salam Private School, where she led the Primary School for over a decade.

Whilst leading the Primary School, she was instrumental in the drive for innovation and improvement and especially with a focus on supporting student well-being.

This foresight has provided her with a strong mandate in her role here at Al Salam Community School.  

Her role involves shaping the whole school experience for students by establishing strong connections with families and the wider community.  She believes these connections and parent engagement in their child’s education  are key in achieving the best outcomes for students . 

Amanda is committed to lead safeguarding and promoting the welfare and well-being of all students and staff.  Indeed, all students and staff  expect all stakeholders to share this commitment .

She firmly believes that for a child to achieve they must first be safe and happy.

Her inclusive approach and community outreach provides a much needed consistency as students move up the school from Primary into Secondary.
