Admissions Overview
Al Salam Private School is dedicated to the positive growth of its students in all areas of life.
We believe that every child is special. Our aim is to have a school community that reflects the diverse society in the UAE.
We accept pupils from all nationalities, learning needs, abilities, who are able to demonstrate the ability to successfully access the school curriculum and contribute to the positive learning environment.
We are an inclusive school for children of determination who may have additional learning needs. However, each case will be dealt with independently by rationalising the school’s ability to meet the pupil’s needs.

Admission Process
Step 1: Online Application
Parents who are interested in enrolling their children in the school may begin by submitting an online application. Once completed, you will receive a reference number to carry you through to the next steps in the admission process. Click here to submit an online application.
In addition to completing the application form, parents must submit all the pre-requisite documentation online for their application to be considered.(details below).
Note: Your application will only be completed once we have received all documentation and the required payment. Payment of the registration fee does not guarantee a student’s place at the school.
Parents can use this year group equivalency guide to identify which year group is suitable for their child.
Pre-requisite documentation include:
- Previous school academic report
- Previous school behaviour/conduct reports
- Copy of student’s Passport & Visa
- Copy of student’s’ Emirates National ID Card (both sides)
Step 2: Assessment
Once all the relevant documents have been received and evaluated, students will be invited in for an entry assessment by phone and via email.
Assessments are structured in the following format:
- Nursery/Foundation Stage: Play based interview, short assessment and Observation
- Key Stage 1 (Year 1) : Written assessment in English and Mathematics
- Key Stage 2 and 3 (Years 2 to 9 ): Progression curriculum based of English and Maths assessment and GL CAT4 (Cognitive Ability Test), English written assessment
There is an assessment fee of AED 500 (non-refundable and non-adjustable) which is to be paid at the school on the day of the scheduled assessment.
We will confirm whether we are able to offer your child a place within 3 working days once the education team has conducted a full review of the assessment. We may ask for additional supporting documentation to support the admission.
Step 3: Enrolment
The Admissions department will send out offer letters to successful applicants.
- Please note that we may request a formal meeting with the parent and child prior to completing the admission process.
Note: If a seat is not available, your child’s application will be placed on a waiting list until a seat becomes available.
Enrolment in the school will be confirmed upon acceptance of the offer and payment of the registration fee of AED 10%. Parents will also be required to submit the following documents as part of the enrolment process.
- Transfer certificate or previous schools’ leaving certificate. (the original is required on or before your child’s first day at school (attested as per the UAE law)
- Original Emirates ID
- Copy of student’s UAE residency visa
- Four recent passport size photographs of the student
- Copies of any health and/or psychological assessments conducted with the student (where required)
- Copies of Vaccination Card
- Signed school-parent contract
- Any other relevant information regarding your child must be included in the offer letter, i.e. (complete medical form, photograph waiver, registration agreement, and accident release form and student information sheet)
Please note that as per KHDA School fee framework, parents will be required to pay a 5% re-registration fee after the spring break. This amount is deductible against first term fees in August.
