SENDIA Award
SEND Inclusion Award
Why is the SENDIA Framework Important?
The SENDIA Framework plays a pivotal role in empowering schools to deliver exceptional education for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Aligned with the SEND Code of Practice, this award framework strategically addresses barriers to learning through early identification, inclusive teaching methods, and effective leadership. By adopting the SENDIA Framework, schools gain a valuable tool for evaluating impact, refining classroom practices and ultimately enhancing student outcomes.
Key Components of the SENDIA Framework:
- Identifying SEN Students:
Utilising the “Assess, Plan, Do and Review” methodology to identify and provide tailored support for students with special needs.
- Student Outcomes:
Ensuring consistent and effective teaching and learning experiences for SEND students throughout the entire school.
- Leadership:
Establishing robust and effective leadership and management strategies for the provision of SEND services.
- Professional Development:
Demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement through high-quality, ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring for all staff within the school.
- Students and Parental Engagement:
Actively involving students and parents in decisions regarding SEND provision and support, fostering a collaborative and supportive educational environment.
- Compliance:
Demonstrating adherence to the requirements of the SEND Code of Practice and other pertinent laws, ensuring that the school’s service is in line with the highest standards. Angela Charlton (Award Verifier)
